Gayle Forman was born on June 5, 1970. Forman started off as a journalist for Seventeen magazine. Eventually, Forman became a freelance journalist, writing for magazines like Details, Jane, Glamour, The Nation, Elle, Budget Travel, and Cosmopolitan. At the age of 32, Gayle Forman and her husband Nick had a babay, Willa. After having Willa, Forman reazlied it was impossible to continue her jounaling career, so she began writing young- adult novels.
Forman's first novel was Sisters in Sanity, which was based off of one of Forman's journal entries. Sisters in Sanity was published in 2007. Forman's next novel was If I Stay. If I Stay was published in 2009 and was published in 30 different countries. Lastly, Forman published Where She Went, a sequal to If I Stay, in 2011. As many can see, Forman is started of her career on the right foot!
